Fort Portal’s Data and Statistics Strategic Plan Co-creation Workshop

From September 30th to October 2nd, 2025, Fort Portal City, in partnership with the DataCities Consortium, held a three-day workshop to co-create the Fort Portal City Data and Statistical Strategic Plan (2025–2030). The workshop aimed to strengthen the city’s data ecosystem, align it with the National Statistical System (NSS), and integrate foresight approaches to anticipate emerging data needs.
The sessions brought together city officials, planners, statisticians, civil society, and development partners to assess the current data landscape, set priorities, and draft the city’s strategic framework. Participants engaged in interactive exercises such as stakeholder mapping and foresight planning to identify data gaps, opportunities, and key actions.
